Description:Over-the-Top (OTT) service providers offer applications and data enhancements to emergency communications centers (ECC) in support of NG9-1-1. The OTT role today is one of a “data provider”, offering information in support of NG9-1-1 routing and call handling, independent of NG9-1-1 next generation core services. Some of the data provided by OTT providers can enhance location accuracy of the caller, provide real time transcription of the call and interface with existing CAD systems allowing AI based language translation and other capabilities.
OTT applications when integrated into an ECC can offer faster implementation, are often cloud based requiring little premise based infrastructure and can shift costs to predictable service or subscription model, based on the size of the ECC.
This webinar will be focused on the future capabilities envisioned by current OTT providers, and users. The discussion will include benefits the 9-1-1 community can continue to see from OTT applications while vendors share their thoughts and ideas as to how current and anticipated OTT solutions can enhance NG9-1-1 going forward.
