Crisis Text Line offers free 24/7 support for people in crisis. All via text. This webinar will provide an overview of this quickly growing service, including how PSAPs are collaborating to save lives and support suicidal individuals.
Michael Spath, ENP, is the Communications Manager for the Sunnyvale Department of Public Safety in Sunnyvale, California. He has been taking 9-1-1 calls since 1991, noting that many of the most stressful calls involve those who are reluctant or unable to share their location, but are also suicidal or are threatening to harm themselves or others.
Garrett Shotwell, MSW, LSWAIC, is a Crisis Counselor Supervisor Supervisor and the Active Rescue lead at Crisis Text Line. He has been practicing social work since 2014 and has completed over 500 active rescues with Crisis Text Line. .
