This webinar will provide an overview of FEMA’s Integrated Public Alert and Warning System (IPAWS) basics, highlight the benefits to local public safety officials of becoming an Alert Originator (AO), and demonstrate the importance of effective preparedness and emergency communications through alerting access stories, including the use of Blue Alerts. As a result, local practitioners will be empowered to effectively us IPAWS to protect their communities.

Attendees will:

  • Gain foundational knowledge of IPAWS and its role in public safety communications, including an introduction to alert types such as Blue Alerts.
  • Understand the benefits of becoming an AO, including resources and support available to AOs.
  • Learn from real-world success stories that demonstrate the impact of timely and accurate alerting.
  • Engage in an interactive discussion with IPAWS leadership during a fireside chat and Q&A sessions to address questions and share best practices.
