Preparing for Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) involves more than upgrading a single system. Call handling, computer aided dispatch (CAD) and geographic information systems (GIS) each play an important role in how emergency calls are received, located, processed and turned into an effective response.

This webinar will provide a high-level look at how these systems support the end-to-end emergency communications workflow and why coordination among them is increasingly important.

Attendees will learn:
  • Where dependencies among call taking, CAD and GIS systems can affect NG9-1-1 planning and implementation.
  • What emergency communications centers should consider when evaluating their current environment.
  • How a connected, phased approach can help agencies establish priorities and plan their modernization journey as they plan for evolving NG9-1-1 requirements.
Designed for public safety leaders and practitioners, the discussion will focus on practical considerations and common dependencies, not just individual technologies, that will help agencies approach modernization with a move complete view of their operational environments and needs.
