The AMBER Alert system is a nationwide system that is organized under the state or regional plans to assist with the recovery of abducted or endangered children. The system was developed to quickly deliver information to the public about these children to aid law enforcement in the speedy recovery of the child. The role of the dispatcher is often critical in the quick deployment of personnel and, in some cases, in the actual entry of information into the system to initiate the AMBER Alert.
