Candidate for 2nd Vice President
Brian LaMonica, RPL, CPE
Communications Supervisor – Southampton Village Police Department
For those I have not yet had the pleasure of meeting, my name is Brian LaMonica. As an 18-year member of APCO International and Past President of the Atlantic Chapter, I am proud to announce my candidacy for APCO International 2nd Vice President. Seeking this role is an opportunity to continue growing as a leader while giving back to an organization that has significantly shaped my professional journey. I am motivated by the opportunity to support our members, contribute to APCO’s strategic direction, and help ensure we continue evolving to meet the changing needs of public safety communications.
Throughout my APCO involvement, I have had the privilege of serving in leadership roles at both the international and chapter levels. Internationally, I have served as Vice Chair and Chair of the Member & Chapter Services Committee, as a Group Leader, and as East Coast Regional Representative to the Board of Directors, where I worked to strengthen chapters and represent our region’s voice.
At the chapter level, I have served as 1st Vice President, President-Elect, President, Immediate Past President, and Chapters Executive Council Representative. In 2023, I had the honor of chairing the Atlantic Chapter Conference, bringing together education, vendor partnerships, and member engagement to deliver a successful and impactful event.
Professionally, I have dedicated 26 years to the 9-1-1 industry. I work for the Southampton Village Police Department, on Long Island, New York where I began as a Public Safety Telecommunicator, and was promoted to Communications Supervisor in 2023. In addition, I serve as the Health & Incident Safety Officer of the Brookhaven Volunteer Fire Department, which has further strengthened my understanding of field operations and the critical relationship between dispatch and responders.
Throughout my career, I have remained deeply committed to advancing public safety communications, supporting APCO’s membership, and strengthening the association’s mission at both the chapter and international levels.
Thank you for your time and consideration. I would be honored to serve APCO and its members as Second Vice President.
